Terms of Use

1. Who We Are

The Services are provided by Global Transformation Forum ("GTF", "we", "us"). Contact: info@gtf.jp.

2. The Website

The Website provides information about the Global Transformation Forum. You may view and share Website content for personal, non-commercial and press purposes, with attribution to GTF. Participation in the Forum is by invitation only; submitting an enquiry does not guarantee an invitation.

3. The App and Who May Use It

• The App is a closed communication tool for confirmed Forum speakers, moderators and GTF staff ("Users").

• Access is granted only to email addresses on GTF's confirmed speaker list. GTF may grant, suspend or withdraw access at its discretion, for example if a speaking engagement is cancelled.

• You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement.

• You may use the App only for purposes related to the Forum: coordinating sessions, logistics and communication with GTF and other participants.

• You are responsible for keeping your device and sign-in method secure and for activity under your account. Tell us at once at info@gtf.jp if you suspect unauthorised use.

4. Chat Rules and Zero Tolerance for Abuse

GTF has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour in the App. You must not post, send or share content that:

• is unlawful, defamatory, threatening, harassing, hateful or discriminatory, including on the basis of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age;

• is sexually explicit, violent or otherwise offensive;

• infringes anyone's intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights;

• discloses confidential information you have no right to share, including the content of closed-door sessions under the Chatham House Rule or similar conditions;

• is spam, advertising or solicitation unrelated to the Forum;

• contains malware or attempts to gain unauthorised access to the App, other accounts or our systems;

• impersonates any person or misrepresents your affiliation.

Reporting and blocking. Any message can be reported in the App (long-press the message and select Report). You can also block any User so that you no longer see their messages. You can also report content to info@gtf.jp.

Moderation and blocking. GTF reviews every report within 24 hours. If the reported content breaches these rules, we remove it and block the User who posted it, so they can no longer send messages in the App. We may also remove content or block a User on our own initiative, without notice.

5. Your Content

You keep ownership of the messages, files and profile information you submit ("Your Content"). You grant GTF a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, store, display and transmit Your Content only as needed to operate the App and the Forum. This licence ends when Your Content is deleted. You confirm that you have the rights needed to share Your Content and that it complies with these Terms.

App content is not archived: it is deleted within 90 days after the Forum ends, as described in the Privacy Policy. Save anything you need before then.

6. Our Content and Trademarks

The Services, including text, graphics, the GTF name, logo and design, are owned by GTF or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Except as allowed in section 2, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or create derivative works from them without our written permission. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the App's source code, except where the law expressly allows it.

7. Availability and Changes

The Services are provided free of charge. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of them at any time, including closing the App after the Forum. We aim to keep the Services available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

8. Third-Party Services

The Services may link to or rely on third-party websites and services (for example app stores, maps, video platforms and social networks). We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices. Their own terms and privacy policies apply.

9. Disclaimers

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, GTF makes no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Programme details, speakers and schedules may change. Views expressed by Users and speakers are their own and not GTF's.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, GTF is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits or reputation, arising from your use of the Services. GTF's total liability for any claim relating to the Services is limited to JPY 10,000.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or rights you have under Japan's Consumer Contract Act or other mandatory consumer-protection laws.

11. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the Services at any time and ask us to delete your App account by emailing info@gtf.jp; we do so within 2 business days. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms, if your invitation ends, or when the App is closed after the Forum. Sections 5–6 and 9–13 survive termination.

12. App Store and Google Play Terms

These Terms are between you and GTF only, not Apple Inc. or Google LLC. GTF, not Apple or Google, is responsible for the App, its content, maintenance, support, and any claims relating to it, including product-liability, legal-compliance and intellectual-property claims. Apple and Google have no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store: you may use it only on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the App Store Terms of Service; if the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, which may refund the purchase price (if any), and Apple has no other warranty obligation; you confirm you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties; and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The Tokyo District Court has exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance for any dispute arising from or relating to the Services, without prejudice to any mandatory right you may have to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version on this page with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify App users in the App or by email. Continuing to use the Services after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Language

These Terms may be provided in English and Japanese. If there is any conflict, the English version prevails.
